OBJECTIVES

  • Create an environment for new and innovative research in software testing.

  • Provide an infrastructure and resources (software and hardware) for students to perform research and other related activities in software testing.

  • Attract new researchers by providing a collaborative environment of highly motivated members that are encouraged to explore and discuss new ideas dealing with present issues around software testing, software metrics and security.

  • Improve current software testing techniques based on the evaluation of testing “real-world” software systems.

  • Create tools that allow testing techniques primarily used in academia to migrate to industry.

  • Foster relationships and partnerships with software development companies, particularly in the South Florida area.

  • Share knowledge and exchange ideas in the area of software testing with researchers and practitioners in the field through seminars and workshops.

  • Explore present security metrics, security testing techniques, and applications to support security-testing process in order to gain knowledge of the behavior of security systems for further research.

  • Strengthen ongoing efforts of the STRG by regularly providing two extra large pizzas during the meeting sessions.
